Stuck On Pause

I hope that at the time you’re reading this, things are going incredibly well for you—and that the following three scriptures are being lived out and felt deeply in your life:

2 Peter 3:18 – “But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.”

Ephesians 4:15 – “Speaking the truth in love, we will grow to become in every respect the mature body of Him who is the head, that is, Christ.”

Philippians 1:6 – “He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
However, maybe things have been a bit off lately.
You’ve lost some zeal, excitement, or sense of forward momentum.

Most of us have been there.
Life can get hard, discouraging, and confusing. Like the old song says, “Slip slidin’ away…”
You hear quotes like, “If you’re not growing, you’re dying,” and you might think, “Okay… I guess I’m dying,” but that doesn’t feel great either.
Then there’s the middle ground—when you’re not really growing or dying—you’re just stuck on pause.
What does that mean? Being stuck on pause can look like this:

You’re maintaining, but not improving.

You’re existing, but not living.
How do you feel when you read that?
Maybe “dying” feels too harsh, but “pause” hits a little too close to home. Growth is hard.
It requires work, perseverance, and usually a few messy failures.
That’s why so many people settle for “average.”
It’s not that they’ve given up—they’re just maintaining.
Holding the line. Not moving backward, but not climbing either.
That’s the definition of pause.
