Have YOU found what you are looking for....?

May 12, 2026

In 1987, U2 released what would become one of the most iconic songs in rock history: “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For.” It climbed charts all over the world and became an anthem for millions of people. Why? Because it touched something deep and universal inside the human soul.

Not just success.
Not just music.
Not just emotion.

Longing.

The song opens with these unforgettable lines:

“I have climbed highest mountains…”
“I have run through the fields…”
“I have scaled these city walls…”

Then later:

“I have kissed honey lips…”
“I have held the hand of a devil…”

And after all the climbing, chasing, pleasure, experience, risk, spirituality, desire, and ambition comes the haunting confession:

“But I still haven’t found what I’m looking for.”

That lyric lands because most people know exactly what that feels like.

We say:
“I want the job.”
“I want the title.”
“I want more money.”
“I want the relationship.”
“I want the recognition.”
“I want the platform.”
“I want security.”

And humanity spends decades chasing those things.

But pause for a moment and ask yourself a deeper question:

WHY?

Why do you want the position?
Why do you want the promotion?
Why do you want the applause, the body, the status, the house, the success?

Because underneath the external pursuit is an internal longing.

The soul is longing for something.

Maybe you hope success will remove insecurity.
Maybe achievement will silence inadequacy.
Maybe money will remove fear.
Maybe romance will cure loneliness.
Maybe accomplishment will finally make you feel significant.

But for much of humanity, those roads eventually turn up empty.

That is why wealthy people still battle depression. Why celebrities overdose. Why accomplished executives quietly feel numb. Why people with packed calendars still stare at the ceiling at night asking, “Why do I still feel restless?”

The soul is craving more than achievement.

When life slows down—when you are sitting beside a lake, staring at the ocean, or under a sky full of stars and the noise fades away—what are you really looking for?

Peace?
Purpose?
Love?
Meaning?
Connection?
Usefulness?
God?

What if the answer is not found in getting more, but in becoming more?

Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than receive.” What if that is not just a nice saying, but one of the deepest truths of life?

Maybe the refreshment we are seeking comes through refreshing others.

Maybe fulfillment is discovered when your gifts, talents, and resources stop revolving around yourself and begin lifting someone else.

Maybe instead of constantly asking, “What am I looking for?” we should begin asking:

“Who can I help?”

Working on figuring this out yourself?

Would love to discuss with you ~ let's start a conversation...
