your next level

Oct 23, 2026

You probably are. At least in some areas of your life.

But have you noticed that the older you get, the harder it can become to summon the same energy, enthusiasm, and determination to make lasting changes?

You try. You make progress. You slip backward.

Then you try again. But this time, perhaps with a little less hope, a little less faith, and a little less confidence.

Eventually, you can find yourself settling for things you once believed you could change.

Sound familiar?

Sports fans understand this feeling!

Just ask a New York Jets fan. Years of disappointment can make even the most loyal supporters question whether things will ever turn around.

Or consider my alma mater, UMass football.

Last year? ZERO wins. TWELVE losses.

Then something remarkable happened.

UMass opened this season with FOUR straight victories! Suddenly, excitement returned. Fans believed again. The stadium sold out for a home game for the first time in more than 15 years!

Let me ask you something. Don't you LOVE a great comeback?

We love watching people and teams defy expectations, overcome adversity, and accomplish what seemed impossible.

But here's a better question:

What would it take for YOU to experience your own great turnaround?

In Ezekiel 37, God takes the prophet into a valley filled with dry bones.

Not struggling people. Not injured soldiers. Dry, lifeless bones.

Then God asks Ezekiel an extraordinary question:

"Son of man, can these bones live?" — Ezekiel 37:3

Ezekiel replies, "Sovereign Lord, you alone know."

God commands him to prophesy, and suddenly there's a rattling! Bones reconnect. Tendons and flesh appear. Then God's breath enters them, and they stand as a vast army!

What a turnaround!

Now, here's something worth considering.

Are you in better shape than a valley of dry bones?

Ha! I'm guessing YES!

You still have dreams. You still have abilities, opportunities, relationships, and experiences to draw upon.

Maybe you're not nearly as far from your next breakthrough as you've convinced yourself.

Perhaps the biggest obstacle isn't your circumstances.

Perhaps it's what you've stopped believing is possible.

Disappointment has a way of quietly lowering our expectations. After enough unsuccessful attempts, we begin protecting ourselves from further failure by simply expecting less.

But what if your next chapter doesn't have to look like your last?

What if you don't need to start over, but simply rediscover what you've lost along the way?

Your convictions. Your confidence. Your willingness to try again.

And perhaps you don't need to figure it all out alone.

Sometimes we need someone to help us sort through the discouragement, challenge the assumptions we've accepted, and reconnect with the possibilities we've stopped pursuing.

That's exactly what I love helping people do through coaching.

So here's my challenge this week:

Identify one area where you've quietly lowered your expectations. Ask yourself what you would pursue if you genuinely believed meaningful change was still possible.

Then take a step.

And if you're ready for your own great turnaround, schedule a discovery coaching session with me. Let's explore what's holding you back and what moving forward could look like.

The timing may be perfect!

After all, if God can bring dry bones back to life, imagine what He can do with someone who's still standing!
