Is Your Passion Contagious?

There’s something powerful about being around a passionate person.
You can feel it.
It might be the entrepreneur who lights up when talking about their business. The teacher who genuinely loves helping students learn.
The athlete who still trains hard after decades.
The musician who disappears into the song.
Or the football fan painted head to toe in team colors, tailgating hours before kickoff and screaming until the final whistle.
Passion shows up in different ways.
Not everyone expresses it loudly.
One person may be explosive and emotional. Another may be calm, focused, and quietly relentless — like a chess master sitting silently across the board while completely dominating the competition.
But passionate people usually share a few common qualities:
- They are energized by what they do.
- They talk about it naturally and often.
- They stay engaged even through setbacks.
- They keep learning and growing.
- Their energy affects other people.
Passion is contagious.
In the Bible, after experiencing the power of God, the disciples said they “could not help but speak about what they had seen and heard.” When something deeply impacts your heart, it eventually overflows into your life.
But what happens when the passion starts leaking out?
Maybe life disappointed you.
Maybe your team let you down. Maybe the relationship grew cold. Maybe work became repetitive. Maybe discouragement slowly replaced excitement. Maybe you used to dream bigger, laugh harder, and recover faster from setbacks.
Now you just feel… flat.
Not terrible.
Just not alive.
The spark that once burned brightly now feels dim.
And here’s the tricky part: it usually doesn’t happen overnight.
Passion rarely disappears all at once. It leaks out slowly through disappointment, distraction, exhaustion, fear, comparison, or simply drifting through life on autopilot.
I see this all the time in coaching conversations.
People often come in feeling stuck, tired, overwhelmed, disconnected, or uncertain about what’s next.
But something incredible happens when a person begins reconnecting with purpose, truth, gratitude, growth, courage, and action.
Life starts flowing back in.
Sometimes quickly. Sometimes gradually.
But over time, I have watched people come alive again.
Old passions reignite. New dreams emerge. Energy returns. Confidence rebuilds.
Abundant life starts showing signs of life again.
So let me ask you:
