NOPE! Not doing that again this year

Have you ever said that to yourself?

That was me heading into 2026.

Enough is enough.

I don’t mind working hard. I don’t mind long hours. I don’t mind complexity. But how I’ve been going about it? That has to change.

Because I refuse to do the same things that didn’t work last year and expect a different result.


Maybe you’ve been there too.

You buy the same planner… and it goes unplanned.
You buy the same journal and a nice pen… and it goes un-journaled.
You tell yourself, “This will be the year,” but find it harder and harder to get started. Or focused. Or both.

You wonder where all the time went.
You wonder why you somehow always have time to scroll, browse, or order things you don’t really need… but not the time to do the things you said mattered most.

Let’s slow this train down.

This is not a shame moment.
This is not a “you’re broken” moment.
This is not a “you’re a loser” moment.


This is simply a neutral realization:

Something isn’t working. And a change is required.

I reached a point where I said, “I’m not going through another year the way I ended this one.”

So, like you see in the NFL sometimes, I fired my coach.

Nothing wrong with my previous coach. Great human. Great intentions. But it wasn’t hitting the bullseye anymore. And I had to be honest about that.

Cue the soundtrack:
“We’re not gonna take it… no, we ain’t gonna take it.”

That line in the sand changed everything.


Since then, I’ve spent hours learning, researching, taking courses, and digging into real questions:

Where is the disconnect?
Why do I do what I do?
What’s actually working for me?
What isn’t?
And what will most directly move me toward the life I say I want?

So far? It’s been incredibly fruitful.

More than any tactic, tool, or system… the breakthrough started with a decision:

I will no longer tolerate patterns that produce results I don’t want.


Let me offer you three practical moves:

1) Audit Your Reality
Look at your results, not your intentions. Your calendar, habits, energy, and outcomes tell the truth. Ask: What am I consistently doing that’s creating what I’m experiencing?

2) Challenge Your Default Thinking
If your inner dialogue sounds like last year’s… your results probably will too. Start questioning your assumptions. Why do I believe this? Who taught me that? Is it actually true?

3) Change Your Inputs
New results require new inputs. New voices. New frameworks. New environments. New support.

How is your new year going so far?

Where do you sense friction?
Where are the blocks?
Are you seeing the gains you hoped for?

If not… that’s not a verdict.

It’s an invitation.
